Chlorella is a freshwater algae with high absorption properties (“biosorption”). 50% of its weight is amino acids very close to the distribution of mother’s milk. The outer cell membrane contains sporopollenin, a potent toxin binder and published anti-cancer molecule —other ingredients: tocopherols, minerals, methyl B12, vitamin A precursors and more. Dr Klinghardt uses Chlorella as a potent and selective toxin binder (it does not deplete the system of trace minerals or vitamins as charcoal does), as a multi-nutrient, cholesterol-lowering agent, it increases NK-cell activity and increases Ig A, an important for all mucous membranes in our system. In pregnant women it has been shown to reduce the toxin transfer from the placenta to the foetus and in lactating women it decreases the toxin content in the milk. Babies born to mums who have taken it during their pregnancy and breastfeeding period have reported that their babies are healthier, stronger, prettier and achieve at a higher level later in life. Our first chlorella babies are now well into their 30s.

Suggested dosage: anywhere from 1-3 grams 1-3 times per day.
- Moms in Switzerland have reported recoveries from autism by giving high doses in the range of 90-160 tablets/day (250mg each). For toxin binding during the active phase of detoxification we recommend smaller doses – 1-2 grams 3 times/day, but during times of crisis to go much higher for a few days (30 tablets 4 times/day).
- For weight loss, chlorella should be taken just before a meal.
- For detoxification and intestinal toxin binding, it should be taken 1-2 hours before the major meals.
- Some clients become constipated with chlorella, mostly when they start with low doses. I recommend a short trial with high doses (high doses bind more toxins than they mobilize, and low doses mobilize more than they can bind). Magnesium oxide and/or cellulase-containing enzymes are the ideal antidote if the constipation
persists.
